Whenever I tried that, the car bounces off the lip and gets stuck (you can't accelerate up the slope unless you're moving).

I prefer to miss the ramp, run down the side and use a booster so I'm moving fast when I come up it.
Hmm, I should try that, see how it works for me. :)
The best way, IMO is to not boost off the ramp, but as soon as you land into the pit, boost up and out. It's faster, trust me =)
