Default KR Fullscreen Screenshot/Video Record Problem

Whenever I'm playing KR fullscreen and I get a screenshot or start recording video, they don't work. For screenshots, when I go to paint and paste, nothing comes up and when I go to the video folder, the video plays but it's just a black screen. But when I don't play KR fullscreen, it works ok. Anybody know why this happens or where I can get answers? Thanks

Actually, the video recording doesn't work on non-fullscreen either.

Here are some general notes from me on this topic.

Screenshots
  • Screenshots are taken with F4 in game. They create a JPG image in the games folder (스크린샷 in KKR, 图片 in chinese versions). However, they are horribly compressed and look ugly.
  • You can workaround this by using the print screen on your keyboard, which copies the screen contents to your clipboard, so you can paste it into Paint or somewhere else.
However, KartRider intercepts the key and disallows you to create screenshots with it if the window is focussed (it intercepts a lot of other useful things which are topic of another rant thread). If you still manage to get around that interception (which works since it is buggy), you might get a bad screen copy (like only white or black) most of the times. Don't rely on this.
  • Having mentioned KartRider only intercepts the print screen when the window is focussed, you can unfocus the window (click the taskbar) and then print the whole screen and paste it somewhere. That's really unpractical most times since you're taking screenshots while racing.
  • Only reliable solution is setting up software like Fraps or XSplit with another external hotkey to take a screenshot, which grabs it directly from your graphic cards back buffer memory.

Videos
  • Videos are taken with F3 in game, in a quality you set up in the game options. This should work any time, actually.
  • Some graphics cards fail to record video if you enabled external graphics optimizations, most prominently anti alias. I thought that problem is dead since 2005, but it looks like some nVidia cards still have this problem. It might also be a bug in the Bandicam library KartRider uses to record video.
  • If everything fails, I never had problems recording or live streaming for hours with XSplit (there are free versions good enough by far). It also supports 60 FPS and full HD resolutions.

Yeah the screenshot problem about the focus sounds correct.

I have an integrated graphics card though. I have Intel 5000 because I have an ultrabook, which isn't designed for gaming.

I just got Fraps and I'm gonna see if that makes any difference.

Ah yeah, the Intel graphics... they suck hard and you only have problems with them sadly. They're only made for office applications, not for games. Including old games like KartRider. It runs because it's so old, but it has issues everywhere...
