Drift City & Kart Rider

If you guys haven't even noticed, ijji games, the company that made Gunbound has made a copycat game to Kart Rider called Drift City. Drift City offers real cars (but different names), ability to hook up your car, mod your car and free roam around the 3 cities they have available at the time. The graphics are cel shaded similar to Auto Modellista (google it if you never heard of it)

Anyways this is the game I have been playing during the wait for Kart Rider but after reaching LvL 22 in Drift City, its not as fun as Kart Rider was. Kart rider was like a smash bros racing game that offered fun in each race.

Im not saying the game was bad but Kart Rider hands down is better.
Has anyone else tested Drift City? Its a good game but soo much lag and its more single player than multiplayer. D:

I haven't tested it, but you told me about it..it looked pretty sweet. Kind of imitates that one anime show, Initial D.

I have a level 35 in driftcity, and have pretty sick parts. Supra/Rims/Spoiler, and parts are all above average stats w/ extra accel and speed stats on each. I have to say, this game was pretty fun for awhile, the single player aspect of the game is pretty fun anyways.

Once you get to PvP, it's a different story. Races are dependant on car parts, and cars. Where as KartRider is mostly skill, you can beat a Marathon PRO w/ Practice Kart if you're better then him. You cannot beat a person 7-10 levels higher then you in Drift City, unless you get extremely lucky with Burst and MegaBoost powerups.

PvP is just not fun in this game, HUV and Combo partys are great, but solo HUV missions are tedious. And after levels 26~, you are only allowed 3, and eventually 2 missions a level. Then you are forced to level via Battle Zone or Delivery Service. Delivery Service isn't bad though...

Anyways, I quit afte I saved up enough for rims. The game just isnt worth it. Not when it's immpossible to beat someone 7 levels above you.

Also another annoying thing, the PvP tracks suck! Theyre just sections of the cities cut off and redirected, this game would be 1000x's better with KartRider like tracks with no traffic. Also the drift system to gain boost sucks, first of all, the tracks are 90% straightaways, there is no place to drift just to gain booster. Second, this is a prefrence complaint I suppose, but I wish you could boost out of drifting like you can in KartRider.

In the end, whoever dodges traffic the best and has the best car stats win. Unless, like I said someone gets lucky with Burst etc.

K, one more complaint! You have to buy a special part that has Start Boost, to be able to take off of the line. SO ANNOYING!

wow. nice cars. i have a eclipse and a mini. they all drive the same though for some reason to me. both are hooked up to the max and 11 levels apart but have the same topspeed.

mini was soooo annoying for to me. the accel is horrible, topspeed is pretty good, but durability is the worst ive had. Two crashed and you need a repair ;/

when u get v5, supra > unlimit, supra accels very fast, has good top speed, and insane booster... my booster can last half of a v4s megaboost. supra ownnnns.

That's one thing I love about DC, the ability to play with 16 people at once. I say, the bigger, the better. I love games where you can compete against lots of people at once. :O

i played drift city very early on ... i dont know if i have a bad memory but i thought the driving was mindless and horrible ... and also some parts of the city lagged SO MUCH for no reason (but i played in the very early stages of the game if i remember right) ... i dont mean to hate on the game though ... i had my share of fun playing it ... i loved makin business on the marketplace (cuz im greedy like that)

Both good in ways. More people play KR though cause DC owned by IJJI and>.<. IJJI made the game not fun because most of the good stuff, you need frigin G coins, and the game will lag like CA if you don't have good CPU or good graphix.

ya i lag at games where you have to load everytime you start a game. The loading thing shit lags me. I might be okay in a RPG game cause it loads all the shit when you log in.
