Ok so I got bored earlier today and went and got a torrent of fraps and started playing around with making videos on kart rider. I came across some questions I have about all of that...

1. Is there any way to make it so fraps isnt as laggy in game? I go from 60 fps to 30 fps when I start running the file, it makes it fairly difficult to play and record a decent video. I was wondering if there were any settings I could put to get the FPS amount up some, even 40-50 would be alright.

2. Im most likely going to make some videos for youtube and such when I get done messing around, whats a good program to use for editing the videos and adding songs and stuff to it?

3. How can I go about compressing the video files? A 3 minute file taking up like 1.8GB of space is a bit much >.>

umm, for the FPS thingy... i think there is a box below the 60 FPS thing. Type the FPS u want in there and yea o_o Done. Well a Very Sexi and hawt video program's cost alot, but u can keygen it and get it from free. But for now u would have to use Windows movie maker (Free). (Msg me if u want to know how to get Sony Vegas 7, Adobe, Etc.)

well, under the video options set it to record at half-size(400x300) and set the recording fps to 60.

To compress I suggest that you use VirtualDub, use the xVid codec. If you need help with the encoding settings just msg me and I'll help you. It should take a 1.8gb file down to like 30mb.

edit: if your gonna use a program to edit the video like sony vegas dont render the video with compression cuz those programs suck at it. Render it as uncompressed then use virtualdub to compress it.

vegas is way better than premiere at rendering, but compared to VDub it is total shit. If I render the same video with the same xVid settings in both programs vegas takes 3 times longer to render, and the quality is much worse.
